A DS3 circuit, also refered to as T3, is mostly used as high speed internet access for business applications. A DS3 has a bandwidth of 45 Megabit per second (44.736 Mbps to be more precise), and this is fully symmetrical so a DS3 has an upload and download bandwidth of 45Mbps.

A DS3 consists of 28 T1 lines each with the speed of 1.5Mbps which is the equivalent of 672 phone lines. Each of the 672 individual channels in a DS3 has a bandwidth of 64k.
